Question 4x4 indicator light

I'm out yesterday and notice the 4x4 light flickering then it came on solid while I'm in 2WD. When I stopped for fuel I made sure that the shifter was properly engaged. Then when I started the truck to be on my way the light is now off. Latter in the day,no flickering this time it just came back on.
What would cause that light to come on while in 2W? Is there some sort of adjustment for a switch some where that turns the light on in the dash?

The switch gets tripped by the shaft from the actuator poking it. Which would imply that the cad is getting vacuum, when it shouldn't. So, either a sticky switch at the t-case, mis-routed vacuum lines, or something wonky going on in the cad. Could try unplugging the cad unit, plugging the lines, and going for a drive, and see if the problem is still present. That would at least tell you which end the problem is on.

Forgive my ignorance as I'm new but quickly learning Mopar Truck, but what and where is the cad unit?

CAD = Central Axle Disconnect. It's the funky growth on the passenger side axle tube that the vacuum lines go to. There is a vacuum actuator there, that slides a collar to engage/disengage the passenger side axle.

Have a look here for some nice pics and such.

Thanks for the reply and link, a picture's worth a thousand words. I'll be checking that today. At least it's not a big money part if needed and looks easy enough to change.
I should spend some time with all the vacuum lines anyway.

Probably not a bad idea.

I didn't have much time today to get into it too deep but with a quick look the vac lines were at least connected. I did notice driving the truck over bumpy roads made the light flicker. That tells me something's loose. I've gotta get under there and spend some time to check all connections and trace em out.

The switch for the light is also right there, at the CAD. Check the electrical connections as well.
