Default Propiretary valve job?

Just asking if anyone knows the quality of hughes racing valve job. Im waiting on my 2.02 heads to come and was curious about the quality of Hughes machine work. I know everyone has there opnion but ive read some horror stories on the internet about him. Anyone have first hand experience with these heads and the valve job he does? Anyone ever dug into them? Thanks again

Hughes seems to be kinda hit or miss on quality. The majority of folks don't have a problem. However, they can be a tad overpriced. Which heads are you getting?

So I heard. Thanks, they are the EQ Iron Ram with 2.02 valves and his racing valve job. Im just hoping his machine work is ok. They are not getting Proted or anything. I should hope that he can cut seats and do a comp valve job. I was hoping here has a set of them from him.

I think the castings all come from the same place.

Used to be, there was an automotive machine shop on just about every corner here. I think, at it's peak, there were like 9 of them in town. Now, 0. If you want machine work done, gotta send it out.... I think there nearest is in Jackson. (about 40 miles away) But, they are more for the dirt racers and such, and lead times on even getting set of heads CLEANED can be as much as three MONTHS.

I miss the old days.

If there is a decent shop near you, might wanna have a chat with them.

Its the same way over here by me. Used to be great precision machinists. Now, far and few between. My issue is I am not opting for the valve job it comes standard on hughes head with the 2.02 valves.

I miss those days. No need for all of them anymore. The engines now are throw-aways

Likely just a typical three-angle valve job..... I wouldn't be surprised if they don't simply come that way from the manufacturer......
