Default 1994 Ram v10 long oil filter

Why did Dodge quit making the long oil filter for the V10.

Probably because they quit making the V-10 for the trucks.....

Should be able to come up with the correct number aftermarket replacement, if you can get the mopar number for it.

The one I got was pretty farking tiny...... If it holds half a quart, I would be surprised. I suspect I am going to be changing it fairly frequently....... A larger one would be nice, but, I haven't had a close look at clearances, or what could possibly scrape it off.... in the 'wrong' circumstances.

The v8 takes the Fram ph16. I'm pretty sure the v10 takes the same filter aswell.

If your looking for a bigger oil filter, the Fram PH8a is the same as the ph16, just 2x longer.

Just cross reference the Ph8a and you can find it in Wix or Whatever brand you use. The frams are just the easiest to use as the search.

Chrysler stopped using the long (fram ph8a) in the 80's. Probably trying to save a buck.

I've been using the longer K&N PS-3001 (same as the Fram PH8A) on my 5.2L for years... They all have the same seal diameter and 3/4"-16 thread mount on the block.
The mount spec/filter is common with many Ford vehicles.
