Default V10 engine swap

1999 dodge ram v10 engine gave out on me so I installed one from a 1995 dodge ram v10. Had to switch intake manifold and had to use cam sensor and crank sensor from my old 1999 v10 motor because plugs were different on the 1995. Tried to crank it and it won't start. Will the cam and crank sensor from the 1999 v10 work on the 1995 v10? Thought this may be why there is no fire to the plugs. Plugs are getting fuel tho. Please help I need my truck.

That's an OBD1 engine in an OBD2 vehicle. Not sure what all needs to be changed.

Well, the only thing I used from the replacement engine basically as the block. All electronic sensors, intake manifold, fuel rail all came from my 1999 blown engine. I was concerned as to whether the sensors, cam and or crank sensor from my 99 would work on the 95 block. Someone told me I couldn't. Something about the cam gears were different and the 99 cam sensor wouldn't function without changing a gear. Is any of this true? Or do I simply need to purchase a new cam sensor and properly install it.

If you are getting fuel, then I think the cam sensor is working as it should. Since you are not getting spark, seems the crank sensor is the issue here. I don't know if anything changed internally, such that the newer sensors won't work in the older block..... Think I would check and make sure the crank sensor was fully seated, and plugged in good.

Do you have a scanner you can plug into the truck?
