Will a 99 dodge 1500 4x4 transmission work in a 97 dodge 1500 4x4

 

Likely it will bolt right in, hook right up, and work just fine. There WILL be some differences though, I think the t-case shift on the older truck mounts to the trans? On the newer trucks, it bolts to the body. The t-case will not interchange, as the newer t-case has no provision for the VSS. That is handled differently on the newer trucks.

There are likely some other minor differences, but, I don't think any of them will be show stoppers.
