I just watched a video on changing the water pump... I did not see a way to make the timing cover leak coolant in it. Unless the cover for the timing and water pump are all the same. And there is no bolt holding the upper part of housing to block when prying off the pump...

Well put the radiator pressure tester to it and with all the plugs out I could hear air coming from 3 and 6..... So both sides blew. Sucks but its was bought knowing this and I got the time to fix it.. Super nice truck... 4x4 and laramie SLT edition with mint interior... NON smoker too so this will be my new truck to haul and do stuff with..
AC is new also..

When you pressure tested the radiator, was it full of coolant. If you can hear 3 and 6 leaking, you should see coolant come out of those spark plug holes when the engine is cranked over. It is possible that intake valves were open on those cylinders and you are hearing a leak somewhere else in the crankcase. Also check the spark plugs, 3 and 6 should look clean (steam cleaned by coolant). You really needed to take your time and check engine out completely, before pulling heads. When engine is running, does it overheat or rapidly pressurize upper hose. Does it push coolant out of radiator into reservoir. Does the engine miss or is there white smoke out of tailpipe. If the only problem is water in the oil, maybe something else besides head gasket. From my own experience, you don't want to replace head gaskets and have it not be the problem.

Understood. Trust me, I was quite reluctant too, but once I understood how it worked and how to use it properly so it would wouldn't affect things like the radiator or heater core, I was good. Anyway, check out my HG thread and good luck with everything.

I did not have fluid in the radiator. Did not want to push that stuff back into the engine, There should be no way air can come out of the spark plug holes unless there was a crack or broke head gasket. Both require pulling of the head. But I will turn the engine over a full turn to see if the air still comes from those same holes. Which is a good idea since that will tell me if its the gasket or the head cracked if that valve was open at the time..
I used a Mech stethoscope to hear which one was doing it.. I have a bore scope I will use tomorrow also. Just to look in and see if I can tell if its the gasket or something else
The engine was ran maybe 10 minutes once the guy saw white smoke coming from pipe. And it only had water in the rad.

Since there was white smoke from tailpipe, you probably do have a head gasket or cyl. head problem.

I rotated the engine over 1 turn. There was water in 6 and a little in 3.

Must have been some left over in the heads.

When I put pressure to it again, I could hear air coming from 2 and 7 now as well as the 3 and 6.
So think the gasket is blown between those both.
I spun the engine over by the starter to clear the water and a little water was in 2367 so they have a shared issue.
I will realyl inspect between those areas for any cracks. Hoping for the best.

You are going to have the pull the heads.... There is obviously something wrong in there. Maybe just a gasket, but, I wouldn't hold my breath on that. Likely the heads themselves are cracked as well.

Got down to just the heads left to pull and noticed the pass one is newer.. Noticed the plug the rebuilder uses to make sure the head did not over heat thing on the back.

I will be pulling the heads tomorrow and we we see what its up.
All the bolts and such came out real easy on the parts so far.
