Default Turn signal and hazards work but brake lights don't

So I have a 2000 ram 2500 5.9 diesel. Had problem with brake lights staying on. I found that my trailer plug was corroded. Got the lights to go off. Now I have turn signals and hazards but no brake lights. Trying to fix brake lights staying on I replaced brake pedal switch. Replaced all fuses and relays. Since it was trailer plug I tested all fuses and relays. All are working and good but no brake lights. What am I missing that the brake lights won't work but hazards and turn signals do work

Moving this to second gen ram section for ya.

Turn signals/hazards/brake lights all go thru the multi-function switch, if neither of your brake lights work, I would be looking hard at the wiring between the brake switch, and the multi-function switch.

Are you getting power in/out of the brake switch? Does your third brake light work?

Welcome to DF!

Thank you. I have a brake controller unit. If I manually apply the brakes both brake lights come on and work fine. Only the pedal don't work. I was messing with the plug that goes into the brake light switch and I could get the brake lights to work intermittently I tried to find a new wiring harness or plug but I can't seem to locate it. It keeps bring up trailer wiring stuff

Thanks

There is an adjustment procedure for your new brake switch, did you do it? Correctly?

I'm pretty sure I did. When I push the brake it disengages the switch. I even removed the switch from the housing to let it fully extend to see if that was the issue. Still no brake lights.

And doing that, broke the switch.

The switch is designed to be installed, and adjusted, ONCE. I don't know precisely how it works, but, part of the installation process is 'adjusting' it. basically, put it in place, have the pedal at a specific spot (all the way up?), and then pull a pin, or bush a button on the switch, that lets it 'self adjust'. It *might* be just fine. I don't really know for certain. (Haven't had the need to play with one) If you still have the switch dismounted, then your brake lights should be on..... are they?

With the switch removed I have no brake lights. I still have turn signals and hazards but when I manually engage my brake control I then have brake lights. I'm thinking it's my wiring to the switch. I can't find a replacement plug for it though.

Is the switch still plugged in? If so, gotta be wiring issues somewhere. It only goes between the switch, and the multi-function switch... so, not a lot to dig thru. Might be at the connector itself in the steering column, at the mf switch.... wires do tend to pull out of it, if you have tilt wheel.
