You don't want to use a 50 dollar fuel pump...... Given the amount of effort required to change it, you want to do it once, do it right, and not worry about it again. That 50 dollar pump will fail within a year. If it is *just* the pump, you are still going to have your old filter, and everything else in there as well.

Well taking that into consideration, it seemed to have good reviews.. Not that that really tells me everything about it. Everything came installed on it, the fuel filter is built into the pump itself. you can't buy just a fuel filter for the 98 dodge, its considered a "nonserviceable part"..

Yeah, it's part of the 'fuel pump module', including the float for the gas gauge and such.

These old trucks have expensive tastes when it come to their electrical geegaws, and if you treat 'em cheap they'll fight back every time. It's a recurring theme here in the forum -- I got me this geegaw at the cheap auto parts store and my truck didn't get all the way better or it got even worse. Just don't even play that game, man. If the price difference between a crappy part and a good one is a worry to you, your problem is owning a Dodge Ram and not the busted fuel pump in it.

Not to mention, with straight pipes, you are losing some of your low end torque.
