Default Oil pan removal...

Ok I've got a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 V10 that I'm wanting to change the oil pan gasket on while doing an oil/filter change due to a small leak. Does the engine have to be hoisted with also removing supports just to get clearance to remove the pan?....

On the V-8's, you don't have to lift the motor..... The pan on the v-10 isn't quite as deep, so, one would think you wouldn't have to there either. Starter, and dust shield on the bellhousing need to be removed though..... Makes life a lot easier.

Got it....dust shield had to be moved, starter was out of the way and didn't have to be touched and oil pick up tube had to be removed for clearance. Thanks HeyYou
