Default Codes 37 and 45

#37. Torque converter clutch solenoid ckt or trans temp sensor to high or low
Open or short in ckt wiring or connectors, voltage out of range at trans temp sensor input.

#45. Transmission OD solenoid circuit
Transmission OD solenoid circuit failure, open or short in the transmission OD solenoid circuit


Made an earlier thread thought I should make a new one since it's been narrowed down, possibly plenum and cat still but I checked the codes and got these..

It's interesting because on the 1600 mile trip the only time it happened before we got here was on a warm day 12 hours driving and then we had a hearheat wave in san Jose and it's way worse now...

Is there any way to check the external stuffs first without ripping everything apart? And will driving it hurt the trans or anything further?

Also please let me know if I should have kept this in one thread

Does it drive ok? Do you get overdrive, and TCC lockup? My truck used to hand me those codes on a fairly regular basis, but, there was never a problem that I could discern. Clear the codes, see if they come back.

As soon as I hit an incline the pedal goes limp the van spotters it's way slowly down to 0 mph then when I restart the engine hesitates and shakes the vehicle I just have to restart until I get lucky and it drives away...I did notice tho that the power from the torque converter is connected straight to the battery and is fairly green threw the length of it

So apparently, someone has had issues with it before.... The trans should get power from a relay in the PDC (under the hood).

You either have a sensor problem, or the PCM is on its way out. Does it get worse the further you drive it? (at least the sensors are easy to change on a van......)

Ok, I have been driving it on flat ground it did ok, then at a stoplight it started acting like it was out of gas, when I pushed the pedal you hear a strange clunk from under the center and sputter sputter clunk, putting it in neutral and trying to hold rpm got us to a parking spot, today I go to start it and it has heavy hesitation in park makes the same noise when I hit the gas, if I put it in drive the pitch of the sound changes and it feels even more like dying and even did die once while idling...

Large red and small black go straight to the torque converter I believe

You need to straighten out the wiring in that, and make things work they way they are supposed to...... otherwise, you are just going to be chasing your tail.

So most of the hesitation was low fuel as that giraffe recently went out... How do I recommend I straighten out the wiring?? I've always done my own car repairs but never electrical, could this be a bad pcm just throwing codes because it can't communicate properly?
