Default 95 2500 overheating

hey I have a 1995 dodge 2500 4wd 5.9L auto and I have replaced both thermostats due to the gauge not working. It showed it was overheating. So I checked the radiator and it was only flowing to half the radiator. I felt the radiator hose and it was full of pressure. And I thought it was the radiator stopped up, but I flushed it and it was fine. Put it back in and it was fine. A couple days later it was overheating. I checked the radiator and again, half of the radiator was only hot. Also the radiator hose was as tight as a banjo string. Threw it in park, patted the gas a few times, and temps were normal. Then at idle it started to get hot again. I'm clueless. Any advice will help thanks!

When was the last time that the water pump has been changed? It sounds like the fins on the water pump impeller are shot and the water pump isn't moving coolant. Also, be sure to install a quality thermostat like a Stant superstat.

I'm guessing you mean both temperature sending units, as it's a older track. And the order ones have a 2 temp senders, one for guage and one for pcm.

Id rule it to a water pump, probably like above the fins are corroded off. While your in there might as well do a timing chain too.

What brand thermostat did you install? I used to buy three of the 'cheapies' at a time, so I made sure to get one that actually worked....

I can't remember right off hand. But I know it wasn't that cheap
