With the transmission in drive and the tcase in nuetral should the rear wheels still spin as if it were in 2wd?

With it in the air, there Might be enough resistance in the t-case to turn the tires in neutral. On the ground, there shouldn't be any movement.

Engine rpm is pretty much red lined at 35mph. I'll drop the truck back on the ground this morning and see if the truck moves with the tcase in nuetral.

Transfer case has to be stuck in low range. That's the only thing I can think of that would explain it.

Put the truck back on the ground this morning, Tranny in drive and tcase in nuetral, it definitely wants to go. So it must be stuck. Sure am glad I didn't go out and buy a new tranny, thank you! So, any thoughts as to getting it unstuck?

You can either replace it, or, drop it out, tear it down, and see what the issue is. Since it is currently undriveable in any event.... Might just as well drop it out. T-case really isn't complicated, might be a simple fix. Or, at least, obvious what the problem is.

Edit: I advocate dropping it out, as it is a LOT easier to work out, when it is NOT under the truck.

If you don't have one already, grab a service manual for your truck from here. Read up on the process of pulling it out, and tearing it down. Videos are a VERY good idea as well.
