Default White smoke 97 cummins

So I've got a 1997 dodge ram 2500 with the 12v cummins in it I was driving home from work with a buddy behind me and he said I was blowing white smoke a sizeable amount but the only fluid leaks I have is a small oil leak from my timing cover and a small coolent leak from my radiator other then that seems fine the truck seems to run good what things could I check to find my problem

Burning coolant is generally a head gasket...... So, first, verify that it IS indeed coolant. Give it a whiff, CAREFULLY, just wave some toward you nose. (that stuff will do a real number on ya if ya get too much.) Take it from there.

If the trucks sits around a lot, it may have just been condensation build up. It happens.

white smoke can occur when diesel burns at to low a temp. Is the smoke gone when the engine warms up?
