Default Ram Brake Upgrades?

I have a lifted 98 ram on 35s. As you would imagine for being on such big tires, braking is not spectacular with OE grade brake components. Focusing on the front brakes, what are some really good performance pads and rotors I can put on to help it stop? Also, does anyone make performance master cylinders and boosters for 2nd gen rams?

There's a whole thread on brake upgrades. Go to 3/4 ton calipers in front, drums in the rear.
Bolt on, easy.

Does wonders!

Yep. Light duty 3/4 ton calipers on the front, and 1-ton wheel cylinders for the back. have the drums and rotors resurfaced, (or replace them....) and use premium pads/shoes. Probably flushing the brake fluid wouldn't hurt either... and also consider going to braided stainless soft lines.

So buy 98 ram 2500 calipers and they will bolt on just fine? I only have 15 inch rims so theres not much clearance

I think the only difference is piston diameter.... I don't think the caliper body is any bigger. Try it, and see. Mount up the bare caliper, see if your wheels hit.

Note: The LD 3/4 ton calipers are single piston. The dual piston fellers simply will not fit.

So would the right calipers be the ones for the 7500 GVW rating or the 8800 GVW rating? Im assuming you mean the 7500 because light duty but just making sure.

Yeah, 7500 gvw. Even though they come on the 8800 gvw trucks up until 2000.

On my '98 I used;
Front 2500LD calipers (80mm bore), 1500 disks and pads.
2500HD calipers are twin piston and have a different mount.

Rear 2500HD/3500 cylinders (28mm bore), 1500 drums and shoes.
Use GM3500 if you need more (30mm bore).

Stock front is 75mm bore, rear is 24mm bore.

These are the cylinders I used;
Front = AC Delco 18FR741 & 18FR742
Rear = AC Delco 18E112
