2001 360 swap for 1998 318
Ok I've tried everything and now I've set this up to ask some of you pros a question.
I had a 2001 ram truck with a 360 in it with a blown motor. I bought a 1998 ram truck with a 318 in it. Took the 318 out and put it in the 2001. I changed the injectors so they would plug into the 2001. Got everything put back together, turned the key and she wants to start but it seems like timing is off or something. Before I go deeper into this I was hopping someone could tell me from experience exactly what my next step should be. Thanks

Check the crank sensor. They tend to be victims of engine swaps. Also check and make sure no wiring got pinched between the engine and trans, and the cam sensor (in the distributor) is plugged in.
After changing out the wiring harness from the 98, and injectors, also computer. It came down to the crank sensor, took the 360 sensor and put it in the 318. Turned the key and she idled like a champ. Thanks for all the replies.
