Default 99 ecm

I have a bad pcm unit and I don't have the money to buy a new pcm but I was going to go to a junkyard and take one off another ram but my problem is that my truck is a manual and I cant fine a 318 2wheel drive ram with a manual so I was wondering if a automatic pcm would work as long as it is a 318 and 2wheel drive until I can get the money for the right one

2 or 4 wheel drive shouldn't matter at all. So, if you can find one with a V-8, and manual, it should work. (98 and newer though, older PCM's won't work)

The Auto trans PCM will leave the check engine light on constantly, and will have other issues as well, due to the trans it is expecting NOT being there.

but a auto pcm could be used to at lease make sure that the pcm is the problem and could start the truck but it might run funny because no junk yard around my area has a manual truck to pull one out of and if I have to spend 200$ dollars I wont to make sure that the pcm is the problem

You can have my Deathflashed PCM with Hypertech tune for tires but it's locked since the tuner was stolen! Only 218k miles on it! Can't get out of its own way. Some days has power, others it doesn't, hahahahahahah!

You may be able to have a dealer re=flash the auto to accept your truck if you can get one cheap enough. Have to flash the VIN and mileage on it anyway....
