Default 1996 dodge ram 1500 5.2 in limp mode???

Hey guys I'm new to this forum I own a 1996 dodge ram 1500 5.2 single cab it's currently sitting in limp mode I've replaced spark plugs, ignition wires, oil changed including the filter, same with transmission new fluid plus filter, I've replaced the governor solenoid, haven't replaced the distributor cap or the rotor inside trying to stay away from that seeing the location of where it is and how difficult it would be of something broke taking off the old one.... Any suggestions helps out plenty truck won't do anything over 30 mph unless it's a down hill grade but on straight aways it struggles getting up to speed and if you gas it to give it extra it doesn't accelerate at all just revs itself high and almost acts as if it's in neutral cause it doesn't shift out of gear and going up hills it slows down to 20mph sometimes even slower... I don't know much about dodge and neither does my father like I said any suggestions on where to look next would be greatly appreciated

If it wasn't for the revving, I'd say your catalytic converter was burned out and clogged.

"Limp mode" truck won't go faster than 30 mph no matter how far down the gas pedal is pushed

But you aren't getting any codes?

Reset the pcm. (disconnect the battery, turn on the headlights, turn off the headlights, hook battery back up.) Still the same?

Remove the front O2 sensor from the exhaust. (not just unplug it, physically remove it.) See how it drives.
