Default unable to get data with dbr3 scanner

Hi, i went to the dealership and ask to program my new key fob in order to use the factory alarm and door locks. the thing is that the scanner, which is a dbr3, doesn't pick up any info or data at all. any suggestions of what can be wrong? is it a fuse? if so, which fuse is it?

Its a 1996, but i am in mexico, so it was made for the mexican market. that means it has a 3 speed auto transmission and a 5.9 tbi injection engine. it also has the dbr3 port, and the alarm module is under the central seat, it is an EL PRO brand alarm, here is the picture.

part number 4790682<br/>i guess this modules were used in the 80s chrysler models like the viper

Shape of the OBD connector, can you post a pic of it? Should be under the dash, by the drivers right knee.

Ok, That's OBDII. Which is a good thing.

You should be able to do the key-dance, (cycle key on-off-on-off-on, quickly) to pull codes. CEL will flash codes. Be ready to count, and have paper/pen ready to write 'em down.

You mean the check engine light?
if so, let me tell you that Check engine light on my truck doesn't work, i don't know if it is because the light its blown on the cluster ( i doubt it ) or because that option its not available in my model ( being for the mexicana market ). it doesn't even turn on when i start the truck, only the oil light and the seatbelt light does.
i will make a video and send it to you so you can get a better idea of my trouble.
i will do it later this evening
regards form mexico
