96 ram 5.9 speedo not working

Serial number is build date.... November 21 1998......

What is the shift pattern on your t-case?

So now this is all starting to make sense. I got the truck of this guy and needed a trans. So instead of letting him put it in, i did cause i didnt trust him to do so. So hes lied to me and made me believe it was all the same. So is there anyway to get the speedo to work without having to find and swap again?

the shift pattern is different than the shifter shows. It shows 2h 4h n 4l. When i checked the t case when it was out goes 4h 2h n 4l. I suspected something wasnt right. And i have a harness hanging (3 pin) that has no where to go.

Do you still have the original transfer case? All ya really need to do is swap 'em out, and you are golden. (and then you will have the VSS for that 'spare' connector to plug into as well.)

No unfortunately, he had already removed it before i got it.
