Default Random very soft brake pedal

Hey guys/gals, looking for some input on this, I really don't have time to diagnose it, let alone find some time to work on it, so I thought I'd ask here. I did a quick search(found something similar from an owner of an 02, but no resolution) but I'm short on time as I leave home soon for work the next few days(not driving my truck).

I have looked for leaks and checked the fluid level several times, all dry and no change in fluid level.

Its very random, I can drive 15 miles across town and it be fine, and then I go to pull into a parking space at the store and its soft right after braking normally while pulling into the parking lot from 35-45mph, some days I get in and its fine and 3 stops later its soft then back to normal for the next 10 miles.

It will stop, but it feels like the rears are doing the braking(and they are worn, ready for replacement, have hardware, shoes, and cyl's haven't picked out drums yet, just haven't had the time lately), and the pedal does travel much further than when it brakes normally.

MC, booster, check valve?

Any input greatly appreciated.

I've forgotten over the years, but 99% sure 2 wheel abs only. Can verify when I get a chance.

I don't hear well, about a 75% loss on my left side. I wanna say no, but possibly, lately I have the a/c full blast and usually the radio is on.

Try disabling the dump valve for the rear ABS. (just disconnect the wires.) It will likely turn on the light, but, see if it doesn't make the problem go away.

May need to stick a small screwdriver under the 'latch' there, and pry it up a bit. They also like to hang on pretty tight if they have been there forever..... I like to push them IN, release the lock, then they generally pull out fairly easily.

Got it disconnected, just wasn't pulling hard enough I guess..

Went for short drive and it was fine until I went to make a u turn on a side road and the pedal was very soft and barely was braking.

Edit:

I may have heard a sound when it happened as well, had radio and air off this time.

Then you have a mechanical issue somewhere....... Might not hurt to do a thorough inspection of the brakes.... See if anything obvious presents itself.
