Check where the trailer harness connects to the rear wiring harness. That is a known problematic area.

It turns out that it was a shorted bulb.

Now, I know I checked all of the bulbs. Heck, I even replaced a couple that looked worn or dirty with brand new bulbs, just to be safe.

It so happens that one of those brand new bulbs was itself shorted out, and I unknowingly replaced an old shorted out bulb with a new shorted out bulb.

I've never been a drinker, but stuff like this could turn me into one in a hurry.

And once again, the "just because it's new....." bites someone in the keester. I hate it when that happens.

Everything working good now?

Signals and hazards work great.

But the day after my last post here, the engine blew the head gaskets while I was headed up into the mountains.

This truck has almost 195,000 miles, and it shows. I'm probably not going to be rebuilding it.
