Pcm no bus
Yeah, they don't particular care for aftermarket sensors.... Especially dorman.
Did you have the crank sensor in place when you put the motor back? They tend to suffer from that experience.
Also check the wiring for the cam sensor. (in the dist.) make sure it didn't get pinched somewhere.

Yup. Left the crank sensor in there lol. It was an original anyways so it would've went on me anyways 😂. All the wiring for the cam sensor is good. Thinking it's gotta be one or the other. Just seems weird it would happen shortly after the crank sensor was replaced. I even tried another new one to see but it never changed a thing. So I dunno if it's cuz it's an aftermarket sensor or if I'm chasing something else haha.
K so I just got a used pcm into the truck and everything is working as it should! Thanks sooooo much for the help. The only issue I'm left with now is every once in a while the engine will "chug". It only ever does it once and only every 5 minutes or so and only lasts for half a second. It's been there since I swapped the engine. Any ideas? I'm thinking crank sensor or possibly distributor pickup. Is it true that these trucks do not like aftermarket crank sensors? Cuz i had to replace mine with a napa sensor. Thx.
The no bus issue turned out to be the pcm being 3 years too old for my truck. The tps could be a possibility. I'll have to check it out on the scanner after vacation. For now at least it runs almost perfect.
