Climate controls
My 01 1500 climate control is giving me issues. The blend doors work and so does the blower motor. But my temperature stays at ambient. So I have no heat. I'm told I need to do an overlay from my TIPM to my ac compressor cuz I have no power to it. And my condenser has a kinked line. But like I said, my temperature for the climate control does not change from ambient. What would I look at first?
Yes I'm sure. I've switched thru all the blend door options on the controls. They work properly but the air neither gets hot nor cold. Just stays at what the ambient temperature is. But I do know my ac compressor don't kick on so there's really no chance of cold air. But I have no heat for defrosting even if it's on the defrosters and heat on the hottest it can go.
Are we having terminology problems? The blend door controls the temp. It's is operated by the little electric stepper motor on the bottom side of the heater box, just to the passenger side of the trans tunnel. It's just two screws, and an electrical connector. The screw on the back side is a pain to get to.
Apparently there is terminology issues. I get things confused. Y'all know what I'm meaning tho, right? So how would I be able to tell whether or not it's malfunctioning? I am a mechanic but not too experienced in HVAC.

Does your truck even HAVE a TIPM? That would be new to me.....
You are likely going to have to pull the stepper motor for the blend door, and inspect it. Set the temp control to the 'middle', drop the little motor, and see if the coupler has cracked/broken.
