Default 01 dodge ram running/starting problems

First time posting here been searching for a couple days now and figured I'd see if you guys can't help me narrow something down. Last November my transmission went out so i had it rebuilt no biggie she had 180,000 on her. A couple months later I went to floor it getting on the highway and it wouldn't shift out of 1st unless you let up. Then you put it back to floor and it bounces off the rev limiter at4-4500 rpms. So I take it back they say it has a misfire. So I did a full tuneup on it and still same problems. Take it back they say the tps wasn't plugged in all the way(I think they just don't want to mess with it). In mean time while this is all going on ive installed the Hughes FI intake and longtubes, new Y pipe and muffler, kept the stock cat. Then all of a sudden the truck will not start after being driven for awhile as in running errands(driving, shutting off starting again) now it begins to die while driving. Leave it sit awhile and it fires up no problem. It always turns over just no firing(odometer reads no bus)Searched around and came to the conclusion it could be the crank position sensor so replaced it.Thought it was fixed but a couple weeks later same problems. Also have replaced tps, iat, due to rough idling issues. Then had the battery checked thinking it might be getting bad turns out it was only 50%charged so what ever purchased a new battery hoping that solves it. Nope still same problems. So as of now it won't pass emissions because I can't drive it long enough without it dying and resetting the computer to reset the monitors. Also every time the shop hooks the computer up the first time I start and leave the transmission slips in 1st but after that is fine. Then once I shut it off it shifts fine. So the only thing left i know is the computer is shot and just wanting to get y'alls opinion before spending that kind of money. Sorry for the long speech just wanted you to have all the details. I'm lost and have had it 4 different shops and they can't figure it out either. 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.9 auto 4x4

No buss is either a communication (lack off) problem or an issue with the pcm. Take off the plugs at the pcm and inspect them. May try moving them around when the truck is running to see if it dies.

Haven't tried wiggling them while running but I have unplugged them when it won't start and disconnected the neg cable and nothing works. Just have to let it sit. I'm guessing it's due to heat. My only options I've come up with is the computer or possibly the camshaft position sensor but with all the other symptoms I'm having I'm leaning towards the computer.

What brand crank sensor did you put in?

Cranks/no spark is generally the crank sensor.....

If they put in some cheap dorman part, that may be the whole problem.... Our trucks really don't like a fair few of the aftermarket sensors, in critical locations.

Replaced ignition coil earlier this year. Also forgot to mention earlier sometimes the engine will surge while at highway speeds if I keep it consistent but if I have to throttle up a hill it goes away. Just like every other problem with it it's intermittent. Every time I replace a part or have it replaced nothing changes the way it starts, run, drives etc. If I have to replace the crank position sensor what brand would you recommend?

Get one from the dealer.

For the surging, that's likely the throttle position sensor. (my truck did the same thing, new TPS solved the issue.)

Don't get one from Advance or AutoZone they are junk mine lasted 2 months. Get one from RockAuto or a dealer. If you buy it and it don't fix it return it or do what I do and keep it in the truck so if it breaks you can replace it.
