Ive been researching it and i think it might be the recirc door but when my ac is on everytime i step on the gas pedal enough to accelerate the forward vents stop blowing and the defrost and floor vents blow instead until i let off the gas enuff and it starts blowing out the forward vents again. Any advice would help.

 

So a search in the FAQ/DIY section for "wild vents". The fix is cheap and easy.

This reminds me, I need to yank my controller out. My vents will only blow through the floor and/or the defrost vents but not the dash at all. I've had to find and replace that little slider inside once because on the factory piece the rubber rolled off of it and didn't make good vacuum seals.

 

Replace your check valves! You have two i believe on your year one on the vac line port coming out of the plenum(passenger side in the middle) and the other near where the line goes into the firewall. You can get then at napa just make sure you check the flow direction before you put them in.
