Default Fuel Leak...

Hey guys, I was out on a bit of a road trip today and sprouted a fuel leak right after filling up. The leak seems to be coming from the area around the fuel pump module and it seems to have stopped after loosening the gas cap. I've visually checked the connections at the pump with the truck running and did not see anything actively leaking. From the multiple posts I've read on this subject, it sounds like the rollover/vent valve, one of its lines, or the pump module gasket is to blame. I've got no emissions codes, but have heard a faulty purge solenoid can cause the leak without throwing a code. I stopped the pump at the second click and it was pretty hot out and I did a bit of in town driving after filling up. When I noticed the leak, I removed the cap and there was a little pressure inside the tank.

Since I have a nearly full fuel tank, I plan on lifting the bed to access the top of the tank to visually inspect things later today or tomorrow. Does anyone have some wonderful words of advice as to what I should be looking for?

gas has gotta be coming from somewhere...... basically, it's gonna be pull it apart, and see what you find.

After chasing my tail trying to look for it, I finally got ticked off, bought a fuel pump and went to work. Since the tank was full, I took the bed loose and tilted it up about 10 inches so I could get in there to work. Right after I finished disconnecting everything, I found the problem...

Overjoyed that I didn't have to wrestle the pump any further, I blocked off a short piece of 5/16 fuel line and hooked it right up. So far it seems to have done the job, but with enough gas lost between working on it and disconnecting fuel lines it still smells like gas where I park. I'll be a bit **** about checking the next couple of days before I can relax about having it fixed.

The leak is officially fixed! It made the run to work and back without any sign of further problems.

Keep an eye on it though. Hose clamps bite into the hose, so, the connections may loosen up over time.

I have the same issue on my truck as well. I have replaced that cap 3 times and it just gets blown off. The only way to stop it is to leave the fuel cap loose(so the tank won't build pressure) Now the other day when I went to put gas in, the gas immediately just started coming out of that blown cap vent. Any ideas on what to do would be appreciated
