Need Help Diagnosing RPM Accelerating Problem
Hey guys, been reading the forum for a bit since I bought my 2nd Gen Ram. After trying to search and figure out how to explain this problem I decided to make a post about it, hoping someone knows whats causing this issue.
The problem is while driving between 60-70 km/h my RPMs drop from 1600+ down to 1200 when I let off the pedel and re-accelerate.. the RPMs wont climb even when speeding up. It seems to stop when I slow down under 60 or speed up past 70.
I have recently change my Spark plugs to Autolite 3923 at .40 gap. Previous owner seems to have changed the plug wires. I have just cleaned the battery terminals but am still having some corrosion on the + side. I also reset my PCM this morning and tested my TPS.
After reading similar issues I've made a list of fixes that people have recommended for different types of RPM problems. Don't know how many would apply to this problem.
-TPS (I tested and it seemed fine)
-Dirty Throttle Body/Intake
-Battery Terminals
-Bad Ground wires/dirty
-Plenum
-Sensors
I was also thinking of running a can of Seafoam, what would be the best way to use it? I just changed my oil and don't really want to do it again. Could I use it in the vacuum lines and will it clean the throttle body etc?

Is it staying in overdrive? The engine really doesn't develop a lot of power down there, and moving your 3 ton brick a bit faster is a pretty significant effort...... may be the engine just doesn't have the grunt to respond as quickly as you think it should. Maybe.
At lower road speeds, you are likely also in a lower gear......
