Worst case what kind of heads would you suggest? I only plan on a slight HP over stock I have long tubes wrapped up ready to install now. And I know I wanna do a intake so I don't have to worry about the plenum. And 1.7 rockers! The Cummins is going thru a 1000hp+ now so this has to be reliable enough to tow it.
EQ Monster Magnums. Either that, or the stock replacements from Odessa/Clearwater. Get the NEW castings. They have thicker decks. The EQ heads flow better than stock.

Which four cylinders? You should start your own thread.

Soooo after many failed attempts of pb blaster, the freeze spray, new screw extractors, many broken sockets, a couple broken ratchets, and lastly heat for about 8 minutes. I told myself i am giving this all i can and if i break of the extractor i will pull the heads. At about 2am i broke off the extractor. By 4am i had my intake and heads off. Blown plenum alot of oil and build up on top of and at the back of the intake and a broken intake manifold bolt. Which was expected on the far passenger side bolt. Heads actually look good no rust no VISIBLE cracks in between valves but it doesn't matter anyway they are being replaced.

So i have done a TON of reading over the years on these and recently also. My plan is reliable and slightly over stock HP. I have looked into EQ heads i can find them on jegs, hughes, ebay. Where would you say would be the best place to order them from; and which ones exactly? I don't believe any identify as "monster" EQ heads.
My pistons have build up but look fairly clean and the bores also are smooth with no pitting at first glance i will check better before making any final decisions. I would like to keep the bottom end together.
EQ Heads
1.7 HS Rockers
Hughes Air Gap
Do i need new lifters and pushrods if so what?
Double roller Timing Chain?

Thanks HeyYou for all the help wish i could have got the dang plug out.

Here's a pair for 1300.... and change.... 2.02 heads though.

Here's a pair with 1.92s for 900.00

You can get the "new" casting stock replacements for even less. Clearwater/Odessa has em.

Of course, it's highly likely that your miss was due to a failed coil pack. One of them deals with the four cylinders, the other deals with the rest.
