I use SCT, the 3200 tuner. You'd order off my site and during the checkout process you'll list your vehicle info and the pcm part number.

No, the death tune is a lazy patch developed by Chrysler corp and installed by the dealership after the customer took delivery and brought it back for ping or overheating complaints. Basically, it retards ignition timing and changed some other parameters in the ECM.

That's why tuners can do so much on 'death flashed' vehicles. It really helps to run premium fuels after using a tuner.

So what would be a realistic number with a good tune and an m1 intake, headers, CAI, and performance plugs and wires??

Maybe 10 to 15 horsepower. If you are lucky. Torque jumps by a good amount, simply because of the reduction of torque management..... (another scheme developed by chrysler to help the poor transmission live longer.) Driveablilty is VASTLY improved though.

But he still sells canned tunes.
That is why you get a group together and have your dyno day so the cost gets shared between 10 or so people.

WOW! only 10-15hp with everything. I was hoping to be around the 300hp mark. What would that take??

A combination of things. Tuner, 1.7 ratio roller rockers, headers, free flowing exhaust system. Even then you may not get 30hp.

In all reality, peak HP isn't really what you want in a truck. You want TORQUE. Torque is what gets you moving. Ideally, you want your torque in the lower RPM range as well.

Keep in mind, there isn't any one single mod (aside from some flavor of forced induction) that will give you 30 hp by itself. You need to figure out what you really want from your truck, and build accordingly. ALL the parts need to have the same goal in mind. Sticking a cam in there that wants to run from 2500 RPM to 8000, but, leaving the kegger intake on there would actually REDUCE performance. The parts NEED to be designed to work together.
