Default radio display

I have the am/fm/cd/tape in my 97 ram SS/T and recently the display has become wonky..


it is intermittent , all other functions work perfect..


any info on this issue or a possible fix is appreciated

If the radio works, but, the display does not, probably time for replacement.

yeah that's what im thinking.. started looking around for a replacement factory radio.. I don't want aftermarket

This goes over the infinity unit that came in these trucks, but I'm pretty sure a lot will be the same. I had my old infinity unit work intermittently, and I bout another radio, and went over all the solder joints in the old one and it worked again once I was done.

If you have a few hours and a soldering iron, just reheat all the joints that look iffy. They usually crack just because of age and vibrations.
