Default bad intake plenum gasket?

95 Dodge ram 1500 5.2 constantly blows blue oil smoke from tail pipe whether it be idiling, accelerating or on start up. I have no blow by from crank case and according to owners manual was rebuilt at 52k currently has 55k miles. I did a vacuum test by capping pcv valve and valve to intake and took the other vent line off coming from top hat on top of throttle body to check for possible vacuum leak from bad intake plenum gasket but to my surprise I had positive pressure. I then took throttle body off and found oil pooled on plenum pan. Was my vacuum trouble shoot wrong or what could cause this?

That's a bad plenum gasket. It may or may not solve your smoking issues though, that may only be a contributor. Probably wouldn't hurt to do a compression test, and see what the numbers look like.

The part that has me stumped is why there would be no vacuum present in the crank case if the plenum gasket failed instead I find positive pressure. I have no blow by what so ever either. Hopefully this weekend I can get around to doing the compression test

Just do the Hughes plate, If it's not bad now it will be later.
