Default '97 Ram 1500 strange electrical issues

Hello there, I'm posting in hopes of finding help with a strange issue I've come across with my '97 Ram 1500. When I first got it I realized my right turn signal doesn't blink sometimes, not every time, but sometimes. Today I discovered that when the headlight switch **** is pushed all the way in it works fine however, I noticed as it blinks, my dashboard lights light up in sync with the signal light, the dashboard lights also light up when I press in the brake, but are otherwise off when the **** is pushed in, however when I pull it out to turn on my dashboard lights and headlights suddenly my right signal no longer blinks, it simply stays on constantly, causing me to manually switch my signal light on and off to create the blinking effect. At first I suspected the signal flasher needs to be replace, but now that I think about it I'm assuming it's a bad ground or short circuit, I'm just not sure where to start looking. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

You have a short somewhere. I think the first place I would check is at the headlight switch.... the connectors like to get hot, and melt......

I have removed and inspected the headlight switch and i couldn't find any visible areas for a short circuit, I'm going to make my way down the wiring of the headlight switch to see if I can find anything.
