Default 96 ram 1500 4wd not working

i have canceled out the possibility of the actuator on the front axle going bad. i have power to the rear in 2high 4low and 4high but never power to the front driveshaft!?? Does anybody know if the vacuum line connection on the transfer case has anything to do with the actual shifting into 4h and 4l within the case itself? or if the shift is solly made manually? and if thats the case maybe I have stripped gears or something?

It's a mechanical linkage inside the tcase. Move the lever, changes what range you are in, the vacuum switch merely reacts to that change, it doesn't influence it at all.

If you put the t-case in 4wd of any flavor, (engine off, trans in park) can you turn the front driveshaft?

Quite likely. T-case is going to need to be torn down, to see what's going on there. Either that, or just replace it.
