np241 upgrades
I have a 97 5.2L ram 1500 ext. cab 4x4. what upgrades are out there for my trucks t-case. id like to delete the slip yoke out-put shaft and get a lower range if available. I'm upgrading the tires from 35'' to 42'' but I spent too much on the tires so I need a cost affective fix.

1500 should have an NV231D, or possibly NV231DHD. (heavy duty variant, has a wider chain.)
42" tires on half ton axles is just asking for trouble. They simply aren't designed to deal with that kind of weight. Also, what gears do you have in your axles?
