Unhappy ECM Wiring Harness -- HELP

I have been trying to locate a an ECM/ECU wiring harness for my 1998 Ram 1500. I am not a mechanic, but the shop that I have taken my truck to for repairs believes the harness is shot and is unable to locate a replacement part for it. I have found a used one, but it's for a 1996 and I have a 1998 (Dodge Ram SLT 1500).

I'm looking for guidance on whether or not that harness from the '96 Ram would work on my '98 OR any tips on where I might find one that will. My mechanic has exhausted all of the junkyards in the area.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Will not work. The highest you can go is a 97 ram

Depends on just WHEN your truck was built. Lots of things changed for the 98 model year, and then there was a mid-year update, that changed even more.

You aren't going to find a 'new' harness. Getting one from a junkyard is the only other option you get. (aside from fixing what is currently in the truck.)
