Loose coil plug causing engine to die

I had my truck die on the highway today, finally got it started again after some quick troubleshooting. The two prong wire on the bottom of my coil had apparently wiggled loose, quick unplug and replug and it started right up. I'd had this problem with a coil previously and we just concluded the coil on that one was dead (as it was happening VERY frequently.). Has anyone ever had a similar problem to this? Wire shaking lose from bumps/engine vibration?

There should be a latch that holds it in place. Has that broken off?

No, its just not very tight I don't think. Seemed to fix the problem so feels like thats what it is.

Zip tie it so it can't escape.

Did this, still died randomly. Its definitely not coming lose, its just failing to make connection. Upon further inspection it appears whom ever had the truck prior to me (or whomever serviced it), bought the wrong model/year of coil, and instead of going back to get the proper one, they put a new connector on the harness to fit the older models using a generic waterproof connector, and they hollowed out the corner slots to make it fit, which is why on the new coil I replaced it with (an old model so it would run obviously) the generic connector looks kinda smashed and such like it doesnt belong (BECAUSE IT DOESNT). This looks EXACTLY like what is in there now https://www.delcity.net/store/Weathe...saAptjEALw_wcB except it looks like its been modified some to fit in and work.

Could you post a picture of what the connector is SUPPOSED to look like that plugs and locks into the 96 era coils? the two circle prongs?
