Default Exploring upgrades for my transmission

Hello everyone,

I am rebuilding the transmission in my 1998 dodge ram 1500 5.2 motor 4x4. I am looking for recommendations on a shifting kit. I would like to get the best performance put of my transmission, mainly shift gears faster and saving gas.

Saving gas? Good luck with that.

Sure cure. It's not really a shift kit, so much as a 'shift improver' kit. When properly installed, also lets you check fluid level in park.

Trans Go shift kit. There is some overlap between the two, but, the combination comes highly recommend.

Also, to make your trans MUCH more durable, check out the list of parts recommended by MonteC on page six of the Transmission corner thread. (stickied at the top of this forum.) Skip the GM governor conversion stuff, and go with the borg warner heavy duty solenoid instead.

Welcome to DF!
