Default Hotwire gone wrong....please help!!

have a 2001 Dodge ram 1500 4×4 5.9 liter and I was trying to hotwire it because my girlfriend took my keys and while hotwiring it the pink wire touched metal and shorted something out and now my truck doesn’t run right… Can. Anyone please help me understand what I did and what I need to fix?

Check for blown fuses.

Do you have your keys back?

I'd start pulling all fuses. It does seem like one of them did its job

X2! If she don't say you will call the police and they will get them. No way to easily "hot wire" modern efi vehicles, It's not like old school vehicles where all you need was a wire to give power to the coil and one to start it. Amazes me how many times you see this on the TV!

Yeah, rip a handful of wires out from under the dash, twist two together, and the engine magically starts.... and the steering unlocks....... Of course, having movies accurately show what would REALLY be required probably wouldn't be a good idea..... no point educating the next generation of car thieves.
