The 4wd drive issue. The shift fork moved to collar over which hits the switch. If the light comes on then The truck has to have the collar shifted. Unless the fork wasn't placed in the collar.

Idle issue What next? Is there any way to test the PCM? I suspect it will be a little spendy?

If the fork was not placed in the collar, will it hurt to still drive the truck like it is, assuming I can get the idle issue solved?

I would check for power on the pins for the IAC anyway. Verify that that is at least working. If it is, I would be tempted to go down to the dealer, get a new IAC, and replace the one that is in there.

There was mention of brands in the first messages. Should I stick with Mopar?

For the IAC, yes. I have seen too many problems with aftermarket sensors in critical locations. (they simply do not react fast enough.....)

FYI: Just wanted to let you know that, due to the holiday weekend, I have to wait until Tuesday to order the iac and will receive it on Wednesday. In the meantime I will test the connector pins to be sure. I will let you know how they tested when I do.
Thanx

Don't order until you are sure that is actually the problem. No point in spending money you don't need to.

Also, make sure you get a MOPAR IAC, if it comes down to it.

If you are unsure of your multimeter, post a picture so we can help you with where to set it. Was it running good after the fuel sync was set? We don't know how good your mechanic is, he could be the problem. If it was running good after the fuel sync ( think of it as timing the injectors) was set, and nothing was changed until it wouldn't idle properly, there's a very good chance it's the IAC. Check the voltage as Hey You suggested, (you check it yourself please) and buy a Mopar IAC. Is the vacuum leak fixed now? Any chance you live in Wisconsin? I would consider coming to help you.

You could unbolt the CAD and see if the fork is in the collar. http://4x4posi-lok.com/app_dodge.html This can be used in place of the vacuum actuator. I installed the one that permanently locks it. It's like leaving the hubs locked all the time. (If you are familiar with locking hubs) If you drive your truck a lot I would get the one with the cable. I would get the truck running properly and then fix the 4x4 if it's not working. http://4x4posi-lok.com/app_dodge.html
