Default Weird Misfire issue

Okay so I am new to this forum, normally the type to just read them and find the answer, but I've got a weird problem that I can't find a clear answer to. So if yall don't mind I wanna pick your brain.
So I have 2001 1500 with the 5.9 L in her. About a month ago I got the flashing light of death, shaking, horrible power, obviously a misfire.hoked up my cheapy code reader and found it was #5. Simply replaced the spark plug for starters and the problem went away! Thennn about 2 weeks ago it developed slight tremble at idle, then a little worse, then I hade issues during cruising with rpms below 2000. And the tremble turned into a shake and my exhaust started to smell rich (I knew there was an issue, I just hadn't had time to dive into it much...I'm a student). Hoped in today got some gas and when I started her back up it CEL was on P0305, limped her back to the house. This is what I am asking you guys, what could cause this, I havn't had a ton of experience so I am constantly learning new things. I'm thinking new cap, rotors, and wires, already have new plugs in. Anyone have any ideas?

Do this! what plugs did you put in? Plain copper plugs are the best. You also might want to read up on the plenum gasket issue.

Okay so I went ahead and replaced cap, rotor, and wires. Only hiccup was I couldn't seem to get the cap cranked down tight. I found this out when I put a wire on the wrong nipple and went to fix it; when I pulled the wire off the entire cap moved a good 1/4". I pushed it back down hoping it wasn't messed up and engine started fine, but I got this weird tick now and assume its the cap not seated right? Anyway the miss is gone but I still have this shimmy from the engine at idle every 10ish seconds, but goes away when driving. Of course all this happened as I was about to actually do some fun modifications. Had my eye on some lights, but if the truck doesn't run, lights are worthless.

Need to find out why the cap isn't securing itself down. Keep in mind, it only goes on one way. The 'ears' that the cap screws go into are different shapes.

That "tick" you hear could be a spark jumping.
