I don't think the fluid is magic..... you can buy it over the counter.....

I don't know if TV cable has any effect on the shift into reverse...... but, if it modifies line pressure, regardless of gear selection, that would be something to look at. See if the cable is binding, or a spring fell off, or some such.

Do you have a diagram of where the springs are? My FSM doesn't. I was going to see if it stretched

I just read the transmission diagnostic chart and it said to adjust the rear band. When I was in there I could not get a socket on it (square head) have any recommendations?

Did you just not have the right size socket? Or just difficult to get to? Wonder if you need to drop the valve body to adjust that one? (I didn't think so......) Maybe with wrenches???? (Haven't had to play with it, so, not sure how much room ya got to work there....)

Spring should go from the lever the TV cable operates, to *someplace else*. It's on the outside of the trans at least.

No you drop the plan and had plenty of room. I tried every socket combination (metric, SAE, 6 POINT, AND 12 POINT). Didn't use a wrench because it has to be torqued.

According to the fsm it's a 5/16 socket I just bought a 8 point still didn't fit. I don't it's the band anyhow because sometimes it goes into reverse. I'll check the fluid again, but it's hard when you can't block the wheels lol
