Default 98 Ram 1500 4x4Transmission sticking

i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9L the transmission seems to stick in 2nd gear sometimes 3rd. sometimes its fine other times I have to feather the gas or even shift into neutral and back to drive and that works everytime.. any ideas I have had the truck about 2 years now just recently started doing this.

Maybe the OD solenoid? I think there is a better fix than a new stock solenoid. Adjust bands and change fluid ATF +4 and filter while you're in there.

was doing some research and if definetly seems like a sensor or solenoid gonna start there I guess thinking new fluid wont be a bad idea either since ive never done it in the 2 years ive had it.

If you are going in there after the electronics, replace ALL of them. Governor pressure sensor and solenoid, (there are the heavy duty borg-warner units out there, better than the stock pieces), and the O/D, and TCC solenoids. There are folks on ebay that sell complete sets, for around 200.

Don't forget to adjust the bands. Torque the adjusters to 72 INCH pounds, then back them off two turns, and tighten the jam nuts.
