What are EVAP canisters?

also someone told me that the one on your frame is what catches over filled gas. the ones by your cai need to be higher than your gas tank because they can get gas in them and mess up, causing a code to show. so if they smell like gas that may be your prob.

My problem was with the hose running from the purge solenoid for the canisters on the leakage detection pump to the front of the throttle body. Once I got that hose tightened properly, the code was gone.
I've checked my gas cap, its not that but I know what you mean. My dad had a bad problem with his dodge doing that. I was thinking about using some dishsoap on the lines to find the leak if there is one? Or will that contaminate the lines? Is it going to blow bubbles or suck the soap into the line? Thats what I can't figure out.
steve00ram360, I cut off the old hose and put on a new piece. The old piece was kind of cracked and stretched so I figured I would be better off if I just went with new. Never had a pinging problem even when the code was showing up.
i know what you mean by that braket for the CAI for the K&N... it was a super PINTA ..the directions for the kit where VERY poorly illustrated and written... i complain to K&N about it too... fortuantly i havnt had a problem with mine yet..
