It should. (I don't think number of drive wheels matters...... so far as I know, the computer doesn't even know if the truck is 4x4 or not.....) ABS and SRS lites will stay on until you get the VIN updated.

I have a 2000 Dakota with a 4.7 engine. I use to have an on going problem with the crank shaft sensor causing a stalling problem without a computer error. I had the engine rebuilt in 2015 and had a number of the sensors replaced. I had the computer replaced in 2014. Right now with the cold weather, the car will start then immediately then stall. If you start it and give a little gas, it will start as long as you continue to give some gas to the engine (around 1000 RPMs). If you let go of the gas, it will immediately stall. if you give it gas (again keeping it above 1000 RPM) and drive it until it gets to operating temperature, the stalling goes away. if you park the truck (turn it off) and try to use it before it reaches operating temperature, it will take a longer crank time to start the truck even if you are giving it gas. It will eventually start and you will need to give it gas to stay running. All during this time, the engine light does not come on? I have replaced the crankshaft sensor just in case it was causing the problem and the change did not solve the problem. This is very frustrating, This is my son's truck and I can't have him drive it in this condition. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
