Default Oil Pressure Gauge

Truck is my work truck, 1995 Ram 1500 5.9 magnum. Looking to see if anyone has routed an auxiliary oil pressure gauge. Mine is all out of whack, fluctuates but not the way I would be expecting. I would just replace the sender but it also reads in KPA since the truck is from Canada and I prefer PSI anyway, thus installing an auxiliary. I want to keep it an electric gauge but can I just tap into the existing sender ( after I replace it to remove all doubt) I don't want the "check gages" light to appear as the factory gauge reads 0. Thanks

You would have to get creative with the plumbing, or, find a gauge that is looking for the same voltage range as the stock gauge....... Not sure if that is even a listed spec on most gauges......

You could tee into the existing sending unit location. Make sure all the thread sizes are correct. I do think it would be best to go with an electric gauge.

I put a tee in the block and added a mechanical gauge in the dash because I didn't trust the stock gauge.

The fitting on the engine/ stock sensor is 1/8" pipe. The hard part is routing the new pressure line to wherever you mount the gauge. I made a bracket for where the O/D- fog light buttons were (97 cab, 98 and newer are different).
