Overhead console question

My overhead console works...kinda. I can't reset the distance traveled though, just sits at zero. MPG, temp compass all work. Any ideas?

Have a service manual? You can get one here. (use the 98 version.) Make sure it is actually getting signal on the correct wire(s).... not sure how its supposed to actually work.....
