Before I try to figure out what it's called, would you tell me what's wrong? What exactly isn't working? The original plug you posted doesn't electrically connect the terminals. It could be cut off and replaced with eyelets.

Well, first off; I got it all figured out. Originally I was just replacing the starter, thats when I noticed the wires connecting the eyelets on the starter terminal were totally shot (see my very 1st picture). So, I had to figure out how I was gonna replace those wires- one wire going to the positive terminal cable (okay, not a problem, easy fix), but the smaller eyelet on the starter was a different story- it was directly wired into the grey-ish harness I have pictured- How would I go about rewiring this when I needed it to connect to this grey-ish harness (which I assumed was the ignition relay)? I ended up just doing exactly what you said (which I wanted to avoid)- I cut, spliced the wires and put a new eyelet onto the starter connection. It wasn't the problem on vehicle itself, I was merely trying to avoid having to gerry-rig.. I wanted the OEM boot-eyelets, but apparently you can't find them anywhere... Oh well, problem solved. Fired up right away. Thanks guys, I appreciate all your input and advice!

You can use heat shrink tubing over top of it. The better stuff has glue that comes out and seals it.

I’m soon replacing the cable to the starter on my 97. Was just underneath my truck to look at the starter area, and I seem to have the same cable set-up as the pics in Post 1. But without a mirror, I couldn’t see how the 2 cables attach to the starter. Looks like it’s just ring connectors, so it’s just a couple bolts?

Yeah, I think they are 9/16ths, or 15mm.... Don't remember.... might even be 5/8ths. Be sure and disconnect the battery end before playin' with the starter end.

Right on. Thank you, Sir. I’ll have a mirror handy when I replace the cable next week.
