Would have to buy a new band... One of these (or both I'm not sure) can be replaced with the trans in the truck.

I kind of doubt the band is worn out because it's a rebuilt tranny so let's just say it's the anchor or the strut or both... where can I find out how to fix it. You did say this can be done with the tranny in right?

Drop the pan, see what's laying in it. Band strut, anchor, and such are pretty straightforward.

Thank you so much for replying. Me and my cousin are going to drop the pan. I already have the filter so I can put that in too.

I forgot to mention I mis-read the abs code. The code is 7 not 6. Code 7 is: electronic control module fuse pellet open, isolation output missing, or valve wiring shorted to ground.
I don't have a clue about the first 2 but I checked the valve wiring and everything seems ok with that.

That's weird. I can find very little information on that code...... Even the FSM isn't very informative. If the wiring checks out, and it actually has power, it might be the module itself has failed.....

Here is a diagram for the front as I think that is the one you said will tighten to the trans.

I do not know. If you pull the pan and can access and see the baby you won't have to. It will probably make things easier for you.

ok, I have the trans pan off and the anchor WAS laying in the bottom of the pan (thank you HeyYou). I removed all but two of the bolts that hold the valve body in place and a lot more fluid began to drain down so i let it drip all night. Now I watched a you tube video that covers this exact problem --->>
only his truck is a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 47RE trans. He LOWERS the Valve body and re-installs the anchor. How do I just lower the valve body?? The bolts are not long enough to loosen them and lower it down. Is there something else thats going to hold it after i take the last 2 bolts out??
