Default 46RE swap question

So I have researched this and there is tons of conflicting post about this!
I have a 99 2wd with a 5.2 engine with the 46RE transmission. It has 175k on it and is now starting to slip some, so rather than repair it I was thinking of replacing it. I found a rebuilt 46RE at a really good price, but it was on the same year truck, but it had the 5.9 engine. Can I use this transmission on my 5.2 truck and if so do I need to worry about the flex plate and/or torque converter? (The rebuilt tranny comes with a torque converter, but I am not sure if it is the one I need)

Thanks in advance

Use the flexplate on your 5.2, use the new torque converter that comes with the trans. It will bolt right in, hook right up, and work just fine.
