Default ABS Problem

Hello everyone. New to the Forum. I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 two wheel drive 5.2 liter. Here is the problem - ABS will not activate during fast or quick stops for lights. Pedal goes to the floor with no ABS or break light on dash. How would I go about troubleshooting this issue? Which part could be the culprit? Thank you for your help. Ed

Do the brakes work normally otherwise? 2 or 4 wheel abs?

The rear wheel abs on these trucks was pretty much useless when they were new, and it doesn't get better with age..... I sometimes think the system actually causes more problems than it solves..... it didn't work at all in my 96, but, it is way to sensitive in my 98. I am considering simply disabling it, and calling it a day.
